Here is my produced work in my Group:
Roles of production:
Research on interactivity and information: Mikhail Micallef,
Research on public interests and audiences: Sean Aquilina
Design and interactive material: Luke Żammit
Developer: Joshua Said
Marketing: Amadeo G Bezzina
As a marketer my roles consist on advertising and selling a product to a target of people.
As a marketer I analyse the technical fundamental structures of the material and its selling points (its strong values) as they are the stepping stones for advertisement. One of the utmost important steps are to make the product seem of high-quality and that it’s worth investigating in no matter how bad or good the product is. I need to find ways to advertise so that the product is viewed by a quantity of people.
Focus of blog:
The blog is focused for “Mediacast” students so that they can find the blog useful for their studies or for any information and updates about “Mediacast”. Trough the blog they can stay updated about school events, have helpful information about Media regulations in Mediacast, find helpful educational information, and also find helpful information regarding to their studies. The blog also gives the students a chance to show their school projects, talk about them and get feedback from other students or other users.
Although the blog is aimed for “Mediacast” students it can also appeal to other individuals who are interested in the Media industry, therefore they can have a good insight about what “Mediacast” is involved in. The blog can also be helpful to those who are interested in choosing a Media course at MCAST but aren’t sure what the courses may offer. To make the blog more interesting there are pages about; educational information, suggestions from students to improve “Mediacast” or comment about any ideas they might wish to bring up, a page about lecturers where you can find insight about them, find projects they worked on, find helpful information about units and units requirements and information about topics that students learn during the lessons. To make the blog more creative we also have an interactive and creative video to explain what “Mediacast” is all about, To show the identity of “Medicast”.
Research Carried Out by Group :
Conducted survey
Our Group conducted a set of surveys by carrying out a set of questions and explaining the plot of the blog to “mediacast” groups from different courses. We gathered a good amount of information that helped us shape our ideas to the student’s expectations.
The idea of the survey was to present our ideas to different media groups. We gathered a vast source of information, rather than from one class, due to the experience since some students have been moved their way up through the courses. We got their insight on what they might want, find useful, and what they suggest on improving by presenting our ideas and details, to explain and give them a better understanding.
The average amount of students responded positive to our ideas and found them interesting, others suggested some new concepts and ideas that lead to helping us shape a better plot for the blog.
When we presented the idea of splitting the blog into different sections, they suggested that we apply information that students can find helpful information regarding their units, find information about events, a place where they can show their work, since they cannot show it anywhere else due to copyright material of “mediacast”.
Other ideas that were presented were to have a section just for educational information such as about broadcasting the film industry, local productions, independent production, and tutorials and so on. They suggested that we keep the blog as simple as possible.
Since we work in an artistic field we wanted to come up with a flash video of a few seconds and a video that shows the identity of “mediacast” through visualisation. This idea was appealing to everyone and students found no objection towards them.My Ideas and Designs:

Colour Scheme and Blog Design:

The original colour scheme is the one above, this will be displayed in the home layout and maybe also for the flash video layout.
Here is a good example of how the links to the other pages are going to look like.
Here you will find different colour graded layouts that will be used for all the other pages. They all have a different colour to make the blog more interesting thus sticking to the same colour scheme throughout the whole blog.

Target audience:
Mediacast students
Individuals interested in the media industry
Does looking for a media course within MCAST
Does who want to change from design craft or 3D to media (moving image).
Colour of design:
The reason to why it’s a gradient design is because I wanted a simple design since it is going to be a blog, so therefore it will not disturb any posts or posted comments. The colours symbolise the colour units of a Camera and the RGB spectrum since mediacast is a production house and works with Media forms. The white and yellow represent light that the camera captures. The colours also symbolize the main colours that the MCAST foundation uses to distinguish its identity, the Colours of the mediacast identity, and if one looks closely at the home layout (first design above) he can notice that the colours much the links below (Facebook, MCAST, YouTube).
